Canal d'Amour (Channel of Love) is one of Corfu's most enchanting natural formations, located near the resort village of Sidari on the island's northern coast. Over millennia, the sea has carved a series of narrow channels, arches, and tunnels through the soft golden sandstone cliffs, creating a landscape of fantastical shapes and hidden swimming pools filled with crystal-clear turquoise water. According to local legend, couples who swim together through the main canal will find eternal love — or, in another version, will marry within the year — making it a popular destination for romantics and newlyweds. The main channel is flanked by smooth, sculpted rock walls that glow golden in the afternoon sun, creating a natural corridor that opens to the open sea. Beyond the main canal, several smaller formations and caves await exploration, each with its own character — some narrow and dramatic, others opening into wider pools perfect for swimming. The surrounding clifftops offer viewpoints over the formations and the Albanian coastline visible across the strait. At sunset, the sandstone takes on deep amber and rose tones, creating one of the most photogenic scenes on the island.
